Investing in multifamily properties of five-plus units is a specialized world. It's imperative that all your team members be multifamily specialists in their own field, starting with the realtor, mortgage broker, lender and the professionals preparing specific reports such as the appraiser, engineer who will do an environmental site assessment (ESA), and of course the building inspector.

Only in Alberta and British Colombia are home inspectors required to be licensed inspectors. For multifamily properties, there is no requirement to be a licensed inspector anywhere in Canada.
